Saturday, February 27, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm

Join us as we walk 18 miles in solidarity with the Trail of Dreams, a 1,500 mile journey from Florida to D.C. that 4 students began on January 1, 2010 for just and humane immigration reform and equal access to higher education.

On February 27th, students, parents, seniors and workers will come together and walk the CA “Trail of Dreams” to recognize that immigrants are key to rebuilding America’s economy.

Rain Update

Weather forecasts show that it will rain tomorrow. We will still be walking with the rain! Please bring umbrellas or other rain gear, and warm clothes.

* If you have a choice of colors for the umbrella, please bring a bright colored umbrella. (E.g. light blue, green, orange..)

Torrential Rain Site

If we end up having thunderstorms and otherwise heavy rain and wind, we will fold the walk into a rally in a gym at the starting point, Seoul International Park, from 8:00 to 8:30 am.

The gymn is located in the southeastern corner of San Marino St and Ardmore Ave. We will make a decision on Saturday at 7:00 AM on whether to have the walk as planned or to have a rally instead.

How will I know?

You may check whether we will have the walk as planned or whether we will fold into the rally, by

  1. Checking the @krcla’s twitter updates, or
  2. Text messaging “trail rain” to 213-973-3330 today (we will text you back on Saturday 7 AM with the information).
  3. If you are registered to walk with KRC or NAKASEC’s organizers, we will give you a call if the walk is cancelled and we have a rally instead.

  5. It fits our needs perfectly the advantage of immigration reform on the country: Greater supply of unskilled workers, a younger workforce, and skilled workers in needed sectors. But there is also a disadvantage of immigration reform like Greater poverty, more educational cost, lower unskilled wage levels, and increased danger of terrorism. Thanks to the post!
