Health Reform Campaign
Our broken health care system has produced a health care crisis for the Korean American community. Nationally, Korean Americans are known to have the highest uninsured rate of 52% among all ethnicities. Many are denied access to public health programs because of their immigration status, and even more cannot afford expensive private health insurance, or their employers do not offer health coverage. Korean Americans seek fewer preventive services, receive less care for chronic illnesses, and face cultural and linguistic barriers that perpetuate race-based health disparities. As a result, the health of Korean Americans have worsened. We need a healthier tomorrow today! Sign a petition asking President Obama and Members of Congress for a just health reform policy.

In order to ensure the full participation of our community in this year’s Census, the Korean Resource Center is organizing an outreach campaign. The campaign will educate community members about the Census, encourage their participation, and assist them with the completion of their forms. However, the outreach effort will not be successful without the service of volunteers. KRC asks all community members – especially high school and college students – interested in volunteering for this effort to contact us immediately.
