at KRC for many months working

for the free tax clinic as well

as the Medicare drug plan enrollment

work, passed away on Friday,

January 18th.  KRC expresses

 deep condolences for his

family members.

Participating in

elections is a crucial component

in the empowerment of our communities.

Over

the past month, 208 voters filled

the registration forms at KRC,

and most registered for Vote-by-Mail

(absentee). KRC also handled

through hundreds of phone and

in-person inquiries on

the propositions, problems with

voter registration, and how

to vote.

voters at Glendale
The

City of Glendale will vote on

January 28th on an ordinance

that will prevent third parties

from handling absentee ballots.

If passed, thousands of immigrant

voters with limited English

proficiency will have a

much tougher time to make their

voice heard by voting, because

nonprofits like KRC will no

longer be able to assist them

in the voting process.

Currently,

three out of Glendale’s three

city council members - John

Drayman, Frank Quintero, Dave

Weaver - support the ordinance.

글렌데일

시 의회는 1월28일 제삼자가 부재자

투표 작성을 도우는 것을 금하는

법안을 표결에 붙입니다. 이 법안이

통과되면 민족학교 등 유권자

등록을 도와주는 단체들이 글렌데일

주민을 대상으로는 더 이상 유권자

등록 및 안내 활동을 하지 못하게

되며, 수 많은 소수민족 및 연장자들이

복잡한 절차애 대한 도움이 전혀

없는 상태로 방치될 것입니다.

현재

글렌데일 시 의원 네명 중 세명이

이 법안을 지지하고 있습니다.

이들에게 이메일을 보내 법안

지지 철회를 요청하십시오! 민족학교는

1월28일 시 의회에 참가해 반대

의사를 밝힐 예정이며 함께 참가하실
