Health Day
The Korean Resource Center operates the Health Day, a periodic one-day, one-stop health clinic (currently scheduled are two clinic days for June and October this year) for people without medical insurance. Through these health days, KRC provides health information, basic health examinations, and consultations to the Korean American and general community.
On these Health Days, the following medical examinations and consultations are provided by internal medicine doctors, pediatricians and family physicians, dentists, and acupuncturists:
- basic primary care check-ups and blood pressure readings
- women's cervical (Pap smear) and breast (exam and mammogram) examinations
- cholesterol and diabetes (glucose) blood screenings
- HIV and TB testings
- dental checkups
Informational seminars on contaminated fish in the Palos Verdes coastal area, as well as other available health-related information, are also provided.
The health examinations and consultations on these Health Days are by reservation only. If you would like to attend this event, please contact Myung Ju Yoon or Shin Ae Lee at KRC, 323-937-3718.
