We provide a consultation on taxpayers’ rights and responsibilities as well as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN). We also provide a free e-filing tax return for the low-income families during the tax-filing period through the volunteer-run VITA (Voluntary Income Tax Assistance), supported by the IRS’s SPEC (Stakeholder Partnerships, Education and Communication). In 2006, KRC’s VITA assisted 439 low-income taxpayers with their E-filing returns and an estimated $318,000 in EITC was refunded to 420 low-income taxpayers. [edit] Qualifications
