Us for Us: Reimagining Community Culture & Solidarity

  • Korean Resource Center 900 Crenshaw Boulevard Los Angeles, CA, 90019 United States (map)

Community, Music, and Food for Social Justice!

This summer, Korean Resource Center is proud to present our inaugural social justice event comprised of an engaging panel that will uplift community-led solutions, with an impressive lineup of diverse BIPOC activists and community organizers from the LA area who are working tirelessly on housing and food justice, to help the most vulnerable in our city. In collaboration with various community partners, we at KRC are delighted to facilitate this necessary conversation and create a space for people to come together to envision new economic and social systems and ways of being in community that are inclusive and wholly life-affirming.

The day will also feature food from local eateries and vendors, live music, swag, an interactive community altar, and more! Closing out the extravaganza will be a live concert by Jason Chu and Alan Z, promoting their new record, Face Value, which focuses on API history, representation, Black and API solidarity, among so many other issues that will also be addressing throughout the day!

Why this Event?

This is a community gathering of activists, organizers, and folks from all walks of life, that have taken a community driven approach to tackling the criminalization of poverty, displacement, food-deserts, and other forms of systemic racism that have negatively impacted Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities.

Through this event, we seek to amplify grassroots organizations that have built power to advance economic, social and racial justice in Los Angeles, rejecting the status quo and paving the way for transformative change and cross-racial solidarity. This event will also offer an opportunity for young adults to get inspired and plugged into existing initiatives, so they can get involved and be part of the movement for collective liberation and the creation of a more equitable society.
