Deep Gratitude as KRC enters a New Year and Change

Over the past two years, the Korean Resource Center (KRC) has been through a process of change that has honored a long tradition of serving the people, pursuing dignity, and engaging community members in a time of chaos and crisis.

As the pandemic known as COVID and its variants, casts a long shadow over all aspects of daily life in Southern California, as anti-Asian violence captures the attention of communities in the U.S. while Asia rises among global leaders, and as the complexity of immigrant rights advocacy grows, the Korean Resource Center has found a way to remain focused on meeting the basic needs of its core constituents — seniors, limited English proficient, and low income community members in Southern California. We have provided services on key issues for our community, including affordable housing and legal services support for immigrants seeking to stabilize their lives. In addition, KRC is fortunate to have volunteers who provide basic social services, in-language for low income community members.

Thanks to those who have been a part of the change and continue to work with creativity and heart.

Thanks also to all those who are coming to KRC to offer their time, talent, and energy to support the needs of immigrants who need access to information and services so that they may find ways to engage in building a movement for dignity and decency.

As KRC enters 2022 it is entering 39 years of community service, organizing for inclusion of voices from immigrants, and promoting cultural education and practice. The challenges that KRC has faced in the past and will continue to face in the future are what gives meaning to building what can truly be called a place of learning for the people.

With gratitude and hope,
