On June 13, the Dreams
Across America kicked off the 7-day public
awareness tour to put the real stories of
people denied their dreams because of the
broken immigration system. The first group
of dreamers from California boarded a train
heading east, picking up more dreamers in
Tucson, San Antonio, Chicago, and Toledo,
with Washington, DC as their final destination.
A few days later three more trains from
Richmond, Miami and Boston picked up additional
dreamers, stopping in New York and Philadelphia.
On June 18, 105 dreamers arrived in Washington,
DC for 3 days of events that included the
United We DREAM Graduation Ceremony, Children¡¯s
March organized by the Fair Immigration
Reform Movement, legislative visits, and
a closing press conferences at the steps
of the Cannon House Office Building.
Please join us at this
community report back to hear from Kim Hee
Pok, Andrew Jung, and other Dreamers who
rode the rails, watch video clips, and engage
in the ongoing movement for immigrant rights'.
Dinner will be provided.
