Question: What should be done to address the problems associated with the illegal immigrants who are seeking a guest worker or other amnesty program?

JAMES HEATH, Retired Postal Worker, Los Angeles, CA-
Anyone who breaks the law, regardless of their place of origin, should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. If amnesty is granted to illegal immigrants, is amnesty going to also be granted to Americans with misdemeanors or minor felonies?

RICHARD DELGADO, Operations Manager, Los Angeles, CA-
I think we should make our elected officials do what they pledged to do when they were sworn into office and what I did when I was sworn into the Army. Protect this country against foreign and domestic intrusion. Many illegal immigrants are anti-American and all of them should be deported.

GYPSY SNOW, Medical Professional, Alhambra, CA-
I think we should immediately stop providing illegal immigrants with the social services benefits that are provided for citizens. If they are legally denied jobs, housing, health care, education, and other services, those that are here will leave and others will not come.

JAMAAL MUHAMMAD, Outside Sales Representative, Los Angeles, CA-
Since the Mexicans were here first, they should have access to this country. There are over 11 million illegal immigrants here who do not want to leave and our elected officials do not want to make them (leave). A plan must be developed that is generally acceptable to all parties.

JAMES SPENCER, Environmental Consultant, Inglewood, CA-
We should deport the illegal immigrants immediately. If someone broke into your backyard you would probably call the police and have them removed and arrested. If our elected officials enforced our existing laws pertaining to illegal immigrants, the issue would be property addressed.

JIM WHITTER, Computer Operator, Long Beach, CA- The answer is very simple. Enforce our laws! If you are here illegally, you must face our legal system. We have a method to process legal immigrants who wish to establish citizenship and that process applies to Mexicans, Central Americans, Africans, Asians, Russians, and everybody else.
