Community Forum in OC: 2018 Elections

*** RSVP at bit.ly/ocforum2018 by May 29 ***

Building on the work of progressive organizers before us, the planners of this forum (VietRISE, Resilience OC, Korean Resource Center, and Viet Rainbow of Orange County) recognize the importance of this election cycle and its long-term impacts on our communities and communities we care about.

Our Community Forum and Discussion is an opportunity to collectively learn about specific issues on this year’s ballot and to build clarity around key propositions impacting ours and surrounding communities so that we can make more informed voting choices. While presidential races are usually the most visible aspect of the U.S. election system, statewide and local ballot measures during midterm and general elections will have the most direct and immediate impact on our local communities. This will be our focus for the evening; however, we hope to build this conversation into the movement for social justice beyond the election cycle.

Date: Thursday May 31, 7pm-9pm
Location: 14841 Moran St, Westminster, CA 92683

Specific measures and issues we will be discussing include:
- Costa Hawkins
- Prop 70
- Measure E in Westminster
- CA Sanctuary Laws, and more

Our goal is that attendees leave the forum with:
1. A deeper understanding of local ballot issues that will directly impact your families and community
2. Hearing from peers and other community members about how these issues might affect them
3. Being able to share what was learned with others so you can have conversations with your families, neighbors, coworkers, etc.
4. Ways to connect and get involved locally

**Event is free. Refreshments will be served.
