Self-Defense Classes with Connie (For Women)

As attacks on the Asian and Pacific Islander community continue to rise, KRC is offering self defense classes for the most impacted members of our communities. We will have 2 sessions, one for women, and another session for seniors. Each class is limited to 15 people, and no prior martial arts or self defense experience is necessary. Please register at the link below.

What to Bring:

For the self defense sessions, please wear comfortable loose exercise-style clothing and closed toed shoes. Please also bring:

  • water

  • towels

  • yoga mat

About the Instructor: Connie Lau

Connie Lau (sher/her/hers) has been practicing Muay Thai for 10+ years and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for 5 years. She also practiced Kung Fu, Ninjutsu, and Kali. She helped teach self-defense classes at UCLA for about 5 years, and has helped teach the Muay Thai classes at the high school she currently teaches at. She has collaborated with other community orgs to teach virtual self-defense classes and looks forward to teaching everyone basic skills in these arts.
