Privacy Policy
The Korean Resource Center (KRC) maintains a number of websites, including krlca.org, nakasec.org, nakasec.net, dreamriders.us, yokim.net, churchpeace.org, newsb.org and is committed to maintaining your privacy as you use these sites. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.
On all of our sites, we use non-personally identifiable and aggregate information to better design our sites. On all of our sites at which we collect personally identifiable information through the site registration process you can correct or modify that information by editing your user profile. We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at our site.
Aggregated Statistics
krcla.org may collect statistics about the behavior of visitors to its websites. For instance, krcla.org may reveal how many downloads a particular version got, or say which plugins are most popular based on checks from a web service used by KRC installations to check for new versions of KRC and plugins. However, krcla.org does not disclose personally-identifying information other than as described below.
Protection of Certain Personally-Identifying Information
krcla.org discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only to those of its employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on krcla.org’s behalf or to provide services available at krcla.org, and (ii) that have agreed not to disclose it to others. Some of those employees, contractors and affiliated organizations may be located outside of your home country; by using krcla.org, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. krcla.org will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. Other than to its employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations, as described above, krcla.org discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only when required to do so by law, or when krcla.org believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of krcla.org, third parties, or the public at large. If you are a registered user of a krcla.org website and have supplied your email address, krcla.org may occasionally send you an email to tell you about new features, solicit your feedback, or just keep you up to date with what’s going on with krcla.org and our products. We primarily use our blog to communicate this type of information, so we expect to keep this type of email to a minimum. If you send us a request (for example via a support email or via one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish it in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users. krcla.org takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.
Privacy on Specific KRC sites
On some sites, including krcla.org KRC event related sites, you will be asked to provide an email address when registering for an account.
Your IP address may be used to identify duplicate user accounts (which are forbidden under the forum rules).
Cookies are used to store visitors' preferences and record past activity at a site in order to provide better service when visitors return to our site, such as indicating which threads you have read. You may modify your information and preferences by editing your user profile.
Should you choose to edit or create wiki pages at wiki.krcla.org your identity is recorded and your username is viewable by those who look at the history of the pages you have worked on. Your IP address may be used to identify possible abuse and may be blocked if abuse is detected.
On any of the sites with commenting features your name, email address, and IP address will be recorded when you make a comment. This information will not be published or shared with any third parties.
If you make a financial contribution to KRC using the sites, your name, address and other information are collected, but your credit card information is never stored on our sites.
Cookies
A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. krcla.org uses cookies to help krcla.org identify and track visitors, their usage of krcla.org, and their website access preferences. krcla.org visitors who do not wish to have cookies placed on their computers should set their browsers to refuse cookies before using krcla.org’s websites, with the drawback that certain features of krcla.org’s websites may not function properly without the aid of cookies.
Sharing of Information with Third Parties
With the exception of the issues discussed in this paragraph we do not share your information with third parties. On some sites, we use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our Web sites. These companies may use information (not including your name, address email address or telephone number) about your visits to this and other Web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you. Your information may be disclosed when we are legally required to by a US court order, to verify or enforce compliance with the policies governing our website and applicable laws, or to protect against misuse or unauthorized use of our website.
Children’s Privacy
Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. None of of our websites are structured specifically to attract anyone under 13. However, we recognize that there may be KRC users and developers under age 13 who may register at one or more of our sites. The privacy policies that apply to all site users also apply to those users under 13.
Future Changes
From time to time, we may use user information for new, unanticipated uses not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change at some time in the future we will post the policy changes to our Web site to notify you of these changes and provide you with the ability to opt out of these new uses. If you are concerned about how your information is used, you should check back at our Web site periodically.
