Black and API Solidarity Mural Project

Saturday, July 17th, 2021

Last Saturday, youth enrolled in the Black and API Solidarity Mural Project met for the first of eight sessions at KRC's Crenshaw office location. Funded by the County of LA, this exciting project will see teens from Black and API communities working together, with lead muralist Mike Norice (mikenorice.com), KRC staff and Black & API Solidarity volunteers to paint a mural that both celebrates all of our cultural identities and promotes the message of racial unity and togetherness.

In addition to mural painting, youth participants will receive weekly facilitated sessions focused on our shared racial history in Los Angeles, multiculturalism, arts therapy, and other wellness practices.

We at KRC are so honored to be a part of this momentous project and look forward to seeing the beautiful work created by all those involved! Please keep checking back for updates, and save the date for a mural unveiling in early September!
